Frequently Asked Question

How do I print to the Ricoh printer (Windows 10)?
Last Updated 6 years ago

First, you need to have a print code. Ask your administrator or supervisor for the print code you should use. There is one print code for black & white printing, and another for color printing.

Got a print code? Good, let's get started.

  1. In the Windows 10 search bar (lower left), type 'printer'. You should see a result called 'Printers & Scanners'. Click on it.
  2. If the printer you want to print on isn't already listed, skip down to the 'Adding a Printer' section below. After you install the printer, come back here and continue on.
  3. Click on the printer. For this example, the printer is called "UAA Advising Ricoh".
  4. Select 'Manage'
  5. From the links on the left, select 'Printing Preferences'
  6. The 'Printing Preferences' dialogue will open. Select the 'Detailed Settings' tab.
  7. From 'Menu', select 'Job Setup'
  8. In the 'User Code' box, enter in your print code.
  9. Click OK to save and close. You are now all set to print!
Adding a Printer

  1. On your keyboard, press the Windows key and 'R' at the same time.
  2. In the 'Run' box that pops up, type: control printers
  3. Hit enter. This will open up the Devices and Printers part of Control Panel
  4. Click 'Add a Printer'
  5. Select 'The printer I want isn't listed'
  6. Click the radio button next to 'select a shared printer by name'.
  7. In the text box type in: \\uaa-backup.uaa.washington.edu\
  8. This will populate a list of available printers. Select the one you want.
  9. Now that you have added the printer, go back to the top of this FAQ and follow the instructions to add your print code to the printer driver.
